Justification
Respiratory physiotherapy is a specialty that in recent times has increased in popularity despite being a strongly established area in the profession.
The field of respiratory physiotherapy encompasses different approaches such as ventilation techniques, airway clearance techniques or physical training programs. The correct application of these therapies has been shown to have beneficial effects in numerous aspects such as quality of life, exacerbations, hospitalizations, etc.
In addition, physiotherapists specialized in the respiratory field, are capable of making a complete and accurate assessment of the patient's condition with respiratory involvement.
However, it is essential to have a specific training in the most relevant aspects of respiratory physiology, biomechanics of the respiratory system; as well as a basic knowledge of the physiopathology of the main diseases with respiratory involvement.
Therefore, this course will facilitate this basic knowledge in an easy and understandable way, but with methodological rigor and supported by scientific evidence.
Goals
- Anatomical, physiological and biomechanical basis of the respiratory system
- To know the main respiratory diseases: obstructive diseases, restrictive disease and infectious diseases
- To describe how to do a correct respiratory evaluation.
- To describe the objectives and the physiological basis of the respiratory physiotherapy techniques.
Methodology
The course is divided into episodes and each one of them forms a lesson.
The lessons consist of a set of videos about the theoretical part and different videos with the practical demonstrations of the techniques.
The student will have access to the course from the date indicated and will have 18 months to complete it. To pass the training, you must watch and study all audiovisual content and pass the final exam.
The course lasts 20 hours, which correspond to the visualization of the different chapters, the study of the notes in PDF format and the completion of the exam. Therefore, the student must carry out active work at home in order to pass the training.

1. Take a multiple-choice exam (you will have 45 minutes).
